CSV to JSON Converter

Convert comma-separated, semicolon-separated or tab-separated data to formatted JSON.

How to convert CSV to JSON

Paste CSV data, choose comma, semicolon or tab, and select whether the first row contains headers. Click Convert to JSON and download or copy the result.

Example

name,age
Alex,25
Sam,30

With headers enabled, output is a JSON array of objects such as {"name":"Alex","age":"25"}.

What is supported?

Quoted cells, embedded delimiters, escaped double quotes, Windows or Unix line endings, and multiline quoted fields. All values remain strings to avoid silently changing leading zeros, IDs or dates. Without headers, the result is an array of arrays.

Limitations

Rows must have the same number of columns. Duplicate or empty header names are rejected. The maximum is 1 MB of CSV text and 10,000 data rows. Parsing runs entirely in your browser.

Practical example: Converting a small dataset

Paste a CSV table containing name, score followed by Ada,10 and Lin,09. Convert it and inspect the JSON objects produced.

What to check before using the result

Numbers remain strings to preserve leading zeros. Duplicate headers, inconsistent row lengths and unusual encodings require careful review.

Frequently asked question

Will 09 become the number 9?

No. Values are exported as strings unless you transform the JSON later.
