Three operations that are easy to confuse
Split PDF keeps just the selected pages and creates a smaller document. Remove PDF Pages discards selected pages while keeping the rest. Reorder PDF takes a complete page sequence and arranges it in that order. Choose based on the result you need, not just the number of pages you start with.
Example: extract non-adjacent pages
For a six-page PDF, selecting 1,3-5 means pages 1, 3, 4 and 5. The output should have four pages in that order. Page numbers start at 1, not 0. Review the output to ensure the intended information is present.
Example: remove the second page
If a five-page document includes an unwanted blank second page, enter 2 in Remove PDF Pages. Your output should contain original pages 1, 3, 4 and 5. The source file remains unchanged.
Example: reorder a short PDF
For a three-page PDF, enter 3,1,2 into Reorder PDF. The last page should become first, followed by the original first and second pages. Every original page should appear once. Duplicate numbers and incomplete sequences should be rejected by the tool.
Common mistakes
Do not use Remove Pages when you intend to keep only the listed pages. Inspect the first and last pages. Empty selections, page zero, pages greater than the page count and malformed ranges should not be used. Modifying signed or form-heavy PDFs can affect document functionality.
